Rise of municipality dates to the 20^th September 1949, when got to detachment local parts of Karolinina Hut (in the year 1951 renamed on municipality Karolinka) from municipality Novy Hrozenkov.

Karolinka, where lives at present near 3 000 inhabitants, is situated in pictorial valley along the river Vsetinska Bečva in easter parts district Vsetin.
